Day 35 – Horseback Camp & Baskin Robbins

Today was the 3rd day of horseback camp. Except today, only Emily had camp. Ainsley and I watched 15 minutes of the horseback lesson and then we headed to Kingston. We went to the Baskin Robins and had some ice cream. The bus dropped us off right in front of the IC shop. We hung out there for a while, did a bit of reading on the couches they had there – white leather couches – a Baskin Robbins meets Starbucks. But the ice cream was the same and very tasty. And I was very surprised to see that the store remained open to 10 pm in August. I was shocked since most of the stores in Kingston and Richmond close at 6. They almost had US hours!

Then we headed back to the Kingston Stables to pick up Emily. We took the bus back to Ham and went to the Library again. We already finished a book each so we wanted to exchange them. I also signed them up for the summer reading program there. They only have to read 6 books, they get stickers after they return a book. After they have read and returned 6 books, they get a medal and a certificate is sent to their school. I explained that their school is in the US and the librarian seemed to think that it could be mailed to Flint Hill. Won’t Mrs. Nenninger be surprised? We’ll see if it does happen. We then headed to the Shady Lane playground again. There, they met some kids so we ended up staying for almost 2 hours. Then we headed home for dinner and bed.

I can't believe Week 5 has already come to a close. We have done a LOT in 5 weeks!
